Creative Mentors Foundation provides several schools additional creative mentorship to students with learning differences.

All work was produced by students at St Marylebone CE School, @habsborough180 , Charter School North Dulwich and Charles Dickens Primary School. 

Big thanks to @weareforpeople for allowing us use of the exhibition space and @kitto.rent for supporting us with AV equipment for the show.

Thank you to everyone who came to our exhibition last week 💛 It was wonderful to see lots of students, teachers and supporters of the charity there. Everyone agreed that the work looked wonderful and showed such a range of mediums and ideas. 

Special thank you to @weareforpeople for so generously giving us the space to exhibit and looking after us so well during set up.

👀 Sneak peak! 👀 students @habaartdept have b 👀 Sneak peak! 👀 students @habaartdept have been busy today finishing off this big collaborative sculpture in time for our exhibition this Thursday 2nd July 5-7pm at 1 Pickle Mews, SW9 0FJ

Inspired by the book ‘All the places you’ll go!’ by Dr Seuss, students created brightly coloured worlds full of wonderful creatures using air dry clay. It was great fun and involved lots of spontaneous creations!

This is an ongoing project exploring texture, composition, colour and mark making. The pieces use combinations of glaze and underglaze, and are a mix of traditional and more experimental sculptural techniques.

To see these on display, come along to our Summer Exhibition next Thursday 2nd July 5-7pm at 1 Pickle Mews, SW9 0FJ All welcome 🙌!
Preparation is under way for the exhibition 👀✨

Students at Charles Dickens Primary School @cdps_southwark have been working on transforming everyday objects from home into clay art. The group learnt pinch pot, coil and slab building techniques to support their making. We can’t wait to see them all finished! ⚽️ 📕 💄

The exhibition will be an opportunity to see all the fantastic art works that students have been making with our mentors over the past year.

By exploring the theme of imprints, they’ve added textures and patterns to metal and designed wearable pieces of art. We think the pieces are looking fantastic! ✨ 🔨 💍 #artinschools #neurodivergent #dyslexiaawareness

These pieces are the start of a year 7 project playing with altering forms of vessels, along with experiments in mark making. Next steps will move into clay work informed by these initial pieces. 🏺🎨

One group of students collaborated to build a large-scale sound making sculptural piece, while others worked on translating mark making into experimental textile designs and silhouettes.

The beautiful butterfly installation by @camberwel The beautiful butterfly installation by @camberwellartsfestival in Butterfly Walk, Camberwell is made up of butterflies created by students from the local area, including Creative Mentors students from Charter North Dulwich!

The piece will be up until the 22nd June so drop by if you can!

🍁🍃🍂 At the beginning of this year we star 🍁🍃🍂 At the beginning of this year we started working with a new primary school @cdps_southwark and we’re really impressed with the work that the students have produced so far with our mentor Frances! 👏 

Years 3 to 6 students have been working on a print project inspired by leaves of the four seasons. They produced linear line drawings and cut outs of leaves, then transferred these into print using mono printing and styrofoam. We can’t wait to see the finished results! 🤩

🌿💙 Cyanotype 💙🌿 Students @habaartdept 🌿💙 Cyanotype 💙🌿

Students @habaartdept have been experimenting with the camera-less photography technique cyanotype with one of our mentors. They used natural forms and jewellery materials to create the images under a UV light. So far they’ve used paper and wood but have ideas to do lots of other surfaces so watch this space 👀🐚🥚
